This position addresses the need for assistance during increased workload of the Woodlands office as related to special projects. This position answers to the Land Use Coordinator and should have some forestry experience and knowledge of the UNH Woodland properties. Duties will be assigned as required; both team and individual work effort will be required

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • 74% Research project support. Collect data related to research on UNH’s woodlands. Aid in all aspects of forestry research support.

  • 25% All other tasks associated with management of woodlands office and UNH Sawmill as research resources. Administrative support, etc.


Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors or Associates in Forestry or other Natural Resources or currently in pursuit of this degree. Appropriate experience may be an acceptable substitute for education.


Required Licenses & Certifications:

  • NH drivers license.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to do strenuous labor outdoors all times of year.

  • Able to work as an individual or within a team and communicate effectively about workflow with supervisor.

  • Able to communicate with the public, especially regarding recreational issues.

  • Ability to run and maintain various vehicles and equipment.

  • General knowledge of New Hampshire forests and how they are managed.

Compensation Pay Range:

$18-$22 /hour
